Play
Pick how far you want it to go and the deck follows — from “answer honestly” to “absolutely not.” Pass the phone, play across the couch, let it get competitive. That part's allowed.
Every day
Neither of you sees the other's answer until you've both said your piece. It takes a minute — it's the part people keep coming back for.
Plans
Spin for a date idea, keep a shared list of the things you mean to get around to, and make an actual plan with a time and a place. It'll show up in the calendar you already use.
What Taken won't do
It doesn't keep score.
No tallies, no “who did more,” no fairness meter. Not in the interface and not in the database either. An app that counts things becomes an app you argue with.
It never nags.
No overdue. No red badges. No “you haven’t opened this in four days.” The most urgent anything gets is Soon-ish.
It isn't trying to keep you here.
No feed, no strangers, no algorithm, no engagement streak you'll feel bad about breaking. Two people — that's the whole user list.
It doesn't read your relationship.
Nothing you write trains anything. Ever.
Privacy
Every table enforces per-couple access in the database itself — not in app code that could forget. Those rules ship as a test suite that runs on every single change, so if one ever broke, the build stops before it reaches you.
The AI features stay off until you both turn them on — your switch and theirs, category by category. The intimate things never reach a general model at all.
Export everything, or delete all of it, yourself, whenever you want.
Do we both need it?
Eventually — it's built for two. But set your side up first and look around; nothing's locked behind your partner turning up.
What does it cost?
Nothing to start — everything you see today is free, and there is nowhere to put a card.
Will my partner actually use it?
Honest answer: that's the hard part of every app like this one. Taken's approach is to never nag them into it.
